1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Rilobase application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Rilobase ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of Service
Rilobase provides an AI-powered search engine and deep research interface. The Service operates on a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model, meaning users must provide their own API keys from third-party providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Google) to generate AI responses. Rilobase intercepts user prompts, retrieves real-time data from authoritative web sources, extracts verified facts, and uses the user's selected AI provider to generate responses. Rilobase also employs a multi-tiered semantic caching system to store verified facts globally for instant retrieval by other users.
3. User Accounts and Responsibilities
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- API Key Security: You are solely responsible for the security, confidentiality, and costs associated with the AI provider API keys you input into the Service. While Rilobase encrypts these keys at rest using AES-256, you bear all risk of unauthorized use of your API keys outside of Rilobase's control.
- Acceptable Use: You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to generating harmful, defamatory, or infringing content, or attempting to reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the Rilobase backend infrastructure, scraping mechanisms, or caching systems.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
The Service offers a paid "Pro" subscription tier billed monthly via our payment processor, Polar.sh. By purchasing a Pro subscription, you agree to Polar.sh's Terms of Service.
- Recurring Billing: The Pro subscription renews automatically on a monthly basis until canceled. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the recurring subscription fees.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time via the Billing portal in your Settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will retain access to Pro features until the cycle ends.
- Refunds: We do not offer refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. If you believe you have been wrongly charged, please contact support@rilobase.com.
5. AI Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service relies on third-party AI models and live web data. AI models are prone to "hallucinations" and may generate inaccurate, biased, or incomplete information. Rilobase is a research tool, not a source of absolute truth. You must independently verify any critical information (especially medical, legal, or financial advice) before acting on it. Rilobase is not liable for any damages, losses, or costs arising from decisions made based on the information provided by the AI.
6. Intellectual Property and Global Cache
The Rilobase architecture, frontend interface, backend pipeline, and caching logic are the intellectual property of Rilobase. You retain ownership of the prompts you submit. However, you acknowledge that Rilobase extracts factual data from your interactions and the web, strips it of personally identifiable information, and stores it in a global semantic cache. This cached data becomes the property of Rilobase and is used to provide instant answers to future users. You grant Rilobase a perpetual, irrevocable license to use, store, and serve these extracted facts globally.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may permanently delete your account and all associated chat history at any time via the Settings menu.
8. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Rilobase is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
